Tonight we celebrated the end of the Awana year, and I was very proud of my 1st grade class! Of my 11 kids seven of them completed their books (the others were very close)!! That means that they have learned, and recited 50 verses!! WOW, how many of us can say that we know 50 verses and their references by heart?
With the wonderful training most of these kids are receiving at home combined with scripture memorization, these kids are getting a good foundation and are going to have an arsenal of weapons (80 verses total from Kindergarten to 1st grade and adding more each year) to use when they get older :) Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
